Himeji Castle - Okiku's Well

Himeji Castle is the largest castle in Japan and is allegedly the location for one of Japan’s most famous ghost stories.
A young, beautiful lady named Okiku was blamed for the loss of a plate - one from a set of ten, a valuable family treasure.
Okiku counted the plates again and again but could only find nine.

The penalty was death.

A Night at Old Gladstone Gaol

I have stayed at Gladstone Gaol many times but this is the first time I have written about my experiences there.

Please note that this is not an investigation report as I was there to experience rather than question everything that took place. A bit of a break from working the paranormal, instead, this time, I just take the location in.

Pawleys Island, South Carolina, is home to quite a famous ghost - the 'Gray Man' who appears just before massive storms hit to warn those who see him of the impending disaster.

In 1981, a historic house in Salem, Massachusetts, is purchased and converted into offices. At Christmas that year, a polaroid taken in the building caught something strange and quite frightening.

Lady of the Lighthouse

When this photo of the St Augustine Lighthouse was snapped, the taker noted nothing out of the ordinary.

On looking back over the photo, he was astonished to find the image of a woman, standing at the railing, looking into the distance.

The problem was that no one was there when the photo was taken. Fact or Fiction? You Decide!

Crawling Ghost of Light

"A man took a photo of his young daughter playing in their living room, and the resulting image clearly shows a ghostly, crawling form of energy in front of her. It seems as if the little girl can see it too. Could it be the spirit of her deceased mother?"

Richmond (Bigge's) Bridge

For well over a century a ghostly figure has been reported on this bridge.

It is thought that ghost is none other than George Grover, the head of a convict road gang and quite a cruel one at that.

In March 1832 his broken body was found below this bridge... a victim of murder.

Three Women and a Hat Man

This photo, taken on the day of these womens mothers funeral, also captured an extra 'ghostly' figure - a man dressed all in black, wearing a black hat, yet otherwise featureless.

This 'Hat Man' has his hand on one of the ladies shoulders and that same lady died in a car crash within days of the photo being taken. Fact or Fiction? You Decide!

Uley Road Cemetery

Over time, a local prank can turn into an urban legend, and then into a 'real deal' ghost story.

Uley Road Cemetery is one such place, where nearby events may be the cause for its haunted reputation... at least for one of the stories.

Still, this place creeps out many who visit it.
