 Over time, a local prank can turn into an urban legend, and then into a 'real deal' ghost story.
Uley Road Cemetery is one such place, where nearby events may be the cause for its haunted reputation... at least for one of the stories. Still, this place creeps out many who visit it.

 The Onryō are female ghosts who suffered at the hands of their lover. These ghosts dwell in the physical world seeking vengeance on those who wronged them. These ghosts are in their element when torturing their hurtful lover to the point of insanity or death.  "The foulest beast on earth..... A reptile in disguise, and rat of Birkenshaw" Peter Manuel’s description of himself in a poem he wrote in his cell.
The “Beast of Birkenshaw” was executed on 11 July 1958, having been found guilty of murdering 8 people.  The Skunk Ape is a hominid cryptid - an upright standing, hairy, ape like creature which comes with its own nasty smelling fragrance.
Because of this it is also known as the Stink Ape. Reported mostly around Florida swamps, it has also been spotted in surrounding states.  Murmur is one of seventy two spirits of Solomon. He is also said to be a Great Duke and Earl of Hell.
Murmur is one of three demons that is said to sway over the dead and move corpses from grave to grave.  "El Monstruo de los Cañaduzales" or "The Monster of the Cane Fields," Manuel Bermúdez Octavio Estrada, is a Colombian rapist, mutilator and murderer of at least 21 children.
He confessed to the horrendous crimes which he committed between 1999 and 2003.  After a firefighter attended a blaze in Gary, Indiana, he posted some photos of the fire on his Facebook profile.
It was here that a strange figure was discovered, standing at a window, amongst the flames. Was a ghost captured in this photo? Fact or Fiction? You Decide!  Legend tells of a half man/half goat creature, weilding an axe, stalking the woods and secluded roads around Beltsville, Maryland.
Several similar creatures have also been reported in Louisville, Kentucky, and Fort Worth, Texas. Is it all just tall tales or could there be more to it?  In 1977 three young Girl Scouts, aged between eight and ten years of age, were bludgeoned, strangled, molested and murdered on their first night of summer camp.
It sounds like the stuff urban legends are made of, but this story, unfortunately, is no legend – it is all true.  Objects moved, stains inexplicably appearing and disappearing, hair being pulled by unseen hands, the image of a man in a mirror, a young boy seen on the stairs and the smell of ladies perfume are some of the experiences people have reported at Whepstead Manor.
