 Ankou is the name of the spirit who collects the souls of the dead. An Ankou comes about when the last person in a calendar year dies in a parish. Their job, for the next year, is to guide the dead souls away from their bodies.
There is no stopping Ankou. Death comes to us all.

 The ancient astronaut theory suggests that contact with intelligent extraterrestrials, early on in our history, influenced the development of our cultures, technologies, and religions.
Some proponents also suggest that we are descendants or creations of these alien race/races.  When this image was captured, the ghostly extra was not expected. Before the owners and staff of the property saw the photo, they were asked for any strange stories about the place. They all replied the same, telling of a little boy dressed in old style white bedclothes seen in the area of the barn.

The legend of this baby swept through the city and country, as people ventured forth, to see the devil incarnate.  A woman in Minnesota was watching her husband wrap presents on Christmas Eve, 1968, when she noticed an outstretched hand appear, palm towards her, on the television set. The strange thing was that the TV was turned off at the time... She grabbed her camera and took this photo as the hand faded away.

How did these songs become known as 'Christmas Carols'? Here is one urban legend that reportedly reveals these origins... and it is a tragic one. Merry Christmas!  The Krampus is a horned creature with dark hair, fangs, cloven hooves and horns. He holds a chain of bells and a hand full of birch sticks to beat children on the naughty list. Also, if the child is particularly bad, he will drag them back to his lair.
He is the Christmas Devil.  Cryptozoology is not a recognized science in the mainstream world, but this study of "hidden" animals is starting to be acknowledged.
