 In the afternoon of March 25th, 1911, the upper three floors of the Asch Building in New York was ablaze. The fire would claim the lives of 146 workers of the Triangle Waistcoat Factory.
Now refurbished and renamed the building sees remnants of the past played out before people's eyes.

 Nic Hume is a cofounder of APPI, a paranormal unit based in Sydney, Australia.
In 2002 Nic ventured out for a ladies night at Monte Cristo Homestead (claimed to be Australia's most haunted home) and experienced something for herself, taking home an unwanted souvenir.  In 1918 a young man bought this doll for his two year old sister. The sister and the doll became inseperable until her untimely death the following year. It was soon after the death that the family noticed the dolls hair getting longer.
Was 'Okiku' the doll inhabited by the spirit of their daughter?  Founded in February, 1970, the city of Pripyat was built to house the workers and their families of the Chernobyl Nuclear Powerplant. However, in 1986, the city was evacuated of its 49,000 residents in just two days following the Chernobyl disaster.
It still, silently, stands empty to this day.  In June 1702 a man lies in his grave, dead, bludgeoned to death. Another man hangs by the neck, covered in pitch, making for a grisly display. And a chair sits in the corner of a quiet country inn, cursed, with all who sit in it meeting a terrible end.
This is the story of Busby's Cursed Chair.  Sometimes an empty building looks so creepy that it begs to be explored. Halcyon Hall of Bennett College is one such building, and with its vast size and deteriorated look it has become somewhat of a poster child for haunted places.
What is its history and is it haunted?  Out in the country side of south-west England, near the town of Manaton, Devon, can be found a lonely grave. The grave belongs to a woman named Jay. It sits in unconsecrated ground, at the intersection of a road and a lane - the burial of a suicide victim.
What is the story of Jay's Grave?  In 1999, a 14 year old girl walked into a police station, complaining of being haunted by a woman in her apartment. On investigation, the police found a woman's skull, stuffed into a 'Hello Kitty' mermaid doll.
Soon, a disturbing crime came to light, a story of sick and twisted torture.  June, 1984, the Theatre Royal was nearly destroyed when a fire burned up much of the stage and auditorium. The damage would have been a lot worse had the fire curtain not been mysteriously deployed.
Was the Theatre Royal resident ghost 'Fred' the saviour of the building that night?  Nam Koo Terrace, known as the Wan Chai Haunted House, has stood abandoned for the past twenty years. It is known for being one of Hong Kong's most haunted locations.
Its reputation went national after several students fled the building, with three needing psychiatric treatment. |
