 The discovery of a well-preserved mummy, made by tourists while walking on a mountain pass in 1991, was undoubtedly one of the most significant archealogical finds of last century.
Mystery has always surrounded the corpse, and some believe the remains to be cursed.

 Matej Curko was a cannibal who killed at least two women and died in a gunfight with the police on 10 May, 2011.
The offer was mutually advantageous. If you wanted to die, just go to the woods in Slovakia and he would happily kill you and eat you.  This demon's taste buds leave a lot to be desired, as Eurynomus is said to feed off the rotting flesh of corpses, and his body colouration reflects that of a meat fly. Commonly depicted with a coat of fox fur covering his back, he is a sly parasite that feasts on dead pickings.  On 18 November, 1978, nearly a thousand Americans died in incidents related to the Peoples Temple, led by Jim Jones in Jonestown - about a third of which were children included in this “revolutionary suicide”, as they called it.
They died of cyanide poisoning and gunshot wounds.  Port Arthur, once a convict settlement, is now a tourist attraction and one of Australia's most haunted locations.
Incorporating a prison, asylum, hospital and cemetery amongst others, it has stories filled with pain and despair, along with the hauntings that go with them.  In the town of Smithfield, Rhode Island, there stood a tree that was said to be either haunted or cursed.
This 'Witch Tree' was located in the middle of an intersection, and was the cause for quite a few road fatalities. It's these deaths which are thought to fuel the trees haunting.  Stories of "Demons" lurking in lakes and lagoons have been shared throughout history.
A lake situated in British Columbia, Canada, is said to be the home of Ogopogo, a lake demon that has been seen for centuries and described as a large snake more than 50 feet long.  Ahmad Suradji’s father visited him in a dream. He came from the afterlife, visiting his son to tell him that the only way Ahmad would ever become a great witch doctor / sorcerer was if he sacrificed 70 women and drank their saliva.
So he did.  A fairly modern day evil spirit, the Popobawa is said to be responsible for sneaking into homes and sexually assaulting sleeping adults…apparently engaging with men more than women.
It is said that the odour of sulphur is present prior to an attack.  A huge number of people all over the world have claimed they have been abducted by extraterrestrials and in some cases more than once.
The general public may scorn and ridicule, but many in the psychiatric community believe the phenomena is real, and occurs frequently. |
