 When children misbehave, they are told the bogeyman will get them… in Spain they’re threatened with Enriqueta Martí i Ripollés the ‘Vampire of Barcelona’ – a psychopath who would kidnap children, offer them to paedophiles and then kill them, using their remains to make cosmetics.

 The Afrit is a powerful winged demon of fire, born from blood. This demon is said to rise like a dark vapour from the blood of victims of murder.
Given the unjust way this demon comes to life, so to speak, it is said it instills appalling terror and brutality into its prey.  Many prophets have made extraordinary claims and predictions about the fate of humanity and our world. Edgar Cayce, also known as 'The Sleeping Prophet', is believed by many to be one of the most gifted seers of all time...
... but there was more to Cayce than just predictions.  In Native American folklore, the Acheri is the ghost of a girl who died a horrible, sickly death. It is thought she returns from the spirit world to live in the hills and mountain tops.
At night the Acheri travels through the valleys to spread a shadow of illness over sleeping children.  During WWI about a million British soldiers lost their lives in acts of total barbarity. However, 306 Commonwealth soldiers, most of them teenagers, were shot as an example, on the orders of the military for ‘cowardice’.
In reality most suffered ‘Post Traumatic Stress Disorder’.  Jenny Dixon Beach is home to one of Australia's most famous urban legends. A woman appears, arms outstretched, beseeching the help of the observer. A nearby road is home to a phantom hitchhiker, a young woman who was murdered decades ago.
Are they one and the same?  In August, 1955, a series of events occurred that would become known as the Kelly-Hopkinsville (Goblin) Case.
The main event occurred at the Sutton family farmhouse, where the members of two families were terrorised by strange goblin-like creatures during one fearful night.  William Wallace, immortalised in the film "Braveheart", is one of the most famous historical figures in Scotland. He fought for its independence over 700 years ago.
He was eventually captured, taken to London and executed in a tragic, brutal manner, by King Edward I.  In 2003, while looking after a house for a friend in Kingsford, New South Wales, Mike and his wife Susan began to experience some very strange events.
At first curious, mysterious and puzzling, soon the events built up to the point where the couple had to leave...  “All officers including captain are dead lying in chartroom and bridge. Possibly whole crew dead." Silence, then "I die." More silence.
These were messages received from the Dutch ship 'Ourang Medan', which was then located, boarded and a horrific scene was discovered. |
