Ouija and other talking boards have quite a bad reputation in the eyes of many. But what of other similar boards and devices for communication and their dangers?

I have made posts about ouija boards / talking boards several times in the past on several sites, groups and forums, and as expected the responses can be quite passionate with many full of warning. There is a vast majority of people who warn against such a form of communication, that it can leave you open to negative energies and you really do not know who you are communicating with.
What I do find interesting is that many people will have these beliefs when it comes to certain brands/types of talking boards (ouija in particular) and not others (psychic / angel boards). These other types of boards *generally* operate the same and there is still no guarantee of who you are communicating with… but maybe the words ‘angel’ and ‘psychic’ just make people feel safer?
And what of other forms of communication- ghost box, EVP, Dowsing, others… do these have the same alleged dangers?
What are your thoughts?
