Group Photo Ghost

In this photo, taken on a mobile phone, you can clearly see the little girl in the foreground is upset. She refused to join the rest of the group as "the other child was scaring her". This puzzled the group as no other child was present at the time - then, after the photo was taken, they discovered a ghostly extra down at their legs. Fact or Fiction? You decide!

This photo comes with several versions to what exactly is happening but essentially it boils down to this:

A group of young women were getting a group photo done (for some celebration or other, the story changes depending on where you read it) but the young sister of one of the group refuses to take part.

The young girl gets upset to the point of crying and screaming. When asked what's wrong she says the other child is scaring her (some versions state she is upset as the other child says it can not be part of the photo.)

Either way, a friend, who is the one taking the photo, gives the girls tantrum little notice and takes a couple of shots on his mobile phone. It is upon looking back at the photos that they realise exactly why the little girl was so upset – there, amongst the group of girls legs is a ghostly face of another child...

Did the photo capture a ghostly child?
Is it faked, possibly using a mobile app?
Or is our brain interpreting a bunch of mashed up pixels as a face?
