 Margorie McCall died from fever in 1705 and was quickly buried for fear the fever may spread.
That night, when grave robbers dug her up in order to take her wedding ring, Margorie sat up - she had been prematurely buried!

 Homer and Langley Collyer were reclusive brothers who lived in a four storey brownstone building in Harlem.
They were also hoarders, paranoid, yet very inventive. Eventually their hoarding, reclusive ways would kill them both and their deaths would become a public spectacle.  From 1917, thousands of women in the US and Canada were hired to apply radioactive, self-luminous paint to watch faces and instrument dials.
They were never told how to safely handle the paint and they were never told it was unsafe. Soon they began to get very sick.  'Jack the Stripper' preyed on prostitutes, killed them and left them naked around London and in the River Thames.
'Charlie Chop-off' killed and mutilated several young boys in Manhattan, New York. 'Beer Man' stabbed and clubbed to death six people in Mumbai, India.  In what has been dubbed the "Australian Ghost Ship Mystery", in April, 2007, the crew of a helicopter spotted a catamaran drifting off the Queensland coast of Australia.
They were to find circumstances on the vessel "strange" and the three man crew missing...  Karen Silkwood was an activist who raised concerns and investigated health and safety practices of workers at a nuclear facility.
Silkwood became famous after dying in a car crash - a crash many consider suspicious as Silkwood was about to go public with her findings...  Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII, was the first English Queen to be publicly executed, only three years after her coronation.
Five hundred years after her death, her tragic tale is still the subject of historians and the inspiration for films.  Part two: Zigmund Adamski was a 57 year-old Polish coal worker who, on the afternoon of June 6th, 1980, was seen leaving his home in the small borough of Tingley to buy some potatoes.
He disappeared soon after and when rediscovered a baffling mystery awaited investigators.  The Tollund Man is probably the most well-preserved body from pre-historic times in the world.
Discovered in a peat bog in Denmark, this man, who they believe was sacrificed to the gods, has given modern day historians a rare glimpse into life in the early Iron Age.  Joseph Merrick was born in Leicester, England in 1862 as a perfectly healthy baby boy.
He died 27 years later in London Hospital having become world-famous as the severely-deformed "Elephant Man." His brief life was a medical marvel and a ‘side show’ attraction. |
