Can pets and other animals sense the paranormal / spiritual?

I receive a lot of messages from people who are concerned by the ways their pets have started to act at home. These pets are acting in an unusual (for them, says the owner) way, almost like they are reacting or ‘playing’ with something that is unseen… at least to us.

If you take a minute to search online you will find many stories concerning peoples pets and the paranormal. Pets (as opposed to other animals) seem to get the most attention when it comes to this subject but that is probably because pets are generally the animals we spend the most time with (along with the bond that is formed), however, I would love to read any stories you might share about non-pet animals too.

Also a couple of other questions. If pets can sense the spiritual are there specific species that do this better aka are cats better at this than dogs? 

What about other species?

What about non-pet animals, if they can not sense the spiritual but pets can, why is that?
And if non-pet animals can sense the spiritual is there a cut off point on which species can’t… insects, fish etc?

For this question we will keep it to living pets (and other animals) and the paranormal/spiritual. There will be a seperate post about pets who have crossed over and their interactions with the living at another time.
