 The term "Thunderbird" comes from the name used by many Native American communities to describe either a single creature, or a species of bird, regarded as a supernatural beast of great strength - large enough and capable enough to attack, and take off with a human.

 In April, 1973, a young boy is attacked by a very strange creature in his Enfield, Illinois, backyard.
Soon after, another family encounters an odd creature that tries to break into their house. What was this 'horror' that stalked people and homes near the Enfield railroad?  In 1920, while camped near a River in Columbia, Swiss geologist François de Loys and his expedition team shot and killed a strange, monkey-like creature.
Many zoologists and cryptozoologists believe this creature to be a spider monkey, but others are not so sure.  The Skunk Ape is a hominid cryptid - an upright standing, hairy, ape like creature which comes with its own nasty smelling fragrance.
Because of this it is also known as the Stink Ape. Reported mostly around Florida swamps, it has also been spotted in surrounding states.  Legend tells of a half man/half goat creature, weilding an axe, stalking the woods and secluded roads around Beltsville, Maryland.
Several similar creatures have also been reported in Louisville, Kentucky, and Fort Worth, Texas. Is it all just tall tales or could there be more to it?  A tall, reptilian monster has been seen dozens of times near the town of Flatwoods, West Virginia, and is one of the more bizarre entities investigated by cryptozoologists and UFOlogists.

Many people think it is a demon or other flying entity, and along with these interpretations come stories of a flying, carnivorous, humanoid creature lurking near Macachin Airport in Argentina. Fact or Fiction? You Decide!  Stories of "Demons" lurking in lakes and lagoons have been shared throughout history.
A lake situated in British Columbia, Canada, is said to be the home of Ogopogo, a lake demon that has been seen for centuries and described as a large snake more than 50 feet long.  Cryptozoology is full of stories concerning creatures of the air, land and sea, from strange ape-men, winged humanoids and fearsome giant cephalopods, to out of place wild cats.
But what about mythical and mysterious insects and arachnids? Here is a classic example.  The Mothman is a bizarre creature, said to share our world, who many consider to be an omen of tragedy. It was seen many times before the tragic collapse of the Silver Bridge in to the Ohio River in 1967.
